Extremely reliable. as long as they are ELISA approved tests, which I'm pretty sure the one you're speaking of is. Besides, even if they were unreliable, they would produce false POSITIVES, not false negatives.

when you get a positive test, they ALWAYS have to confirm it with a Western Blot test. So if you tested negative, you can rely on it as being 100% accurate (as long as you tested 13 weeks after your last unprotected act).
