There is no such thing as space science.
like there is also no such thing as rocket science.
are just hollow names by popular science writers for grouping many real sciences together.
all sciences that deal with space (Astronomy, theoretical physics, geology, astronautics, etc) become space science for them. Astronomy is thus a part of the linguistic construct called space science.

The nomenclature Space Science like Rocket Science or Computer Science is unfortunate.
I am afraid the way things are shaping up in English language, each of these might get a proper 'tag' like Astronomy it self.
the space travel and the applications of Aerodynamics, structures, materials, Communications systems were adapted for travel into space (live or inanimate like 'satellites'), Astronomy was a pure (not applied) subject dealing with all heavenly bodies we see through the sky.
the trappings associated with something being sent into space that coined its other name.

There are universities (e.g. University of Michigan) that have entirely separate departments dealing with: 1. Astronomy 2.
Science 3. Aerospace Engineering In this sense, astronomy deals with the study of objects well beyond the Earth, like the planets and beyond. Several disciplines are involved, including geology of other planets, chemistry, cosmology, and observational verification in all wavelengths. An emphasis is placed on individual interests and independent study leading to doctoral degrees.

may involve the study of conditions on other planets as well, but it is more closely related to meteorology than to astronomy. Aerospace engineering is, of course, dedicated to the design and manufacture of machines that can fly.
