"You have not been introduced to the structure of orotidine 5'-monophosphate. However, you can draw conclusions about its structure from its name.

of the following statements most completely describes what you know about the structure?" A. It is a nucleotide. B. It is a purine nucleotide that contains a phosphoanhydride bond. C. It is a pyrimidine nucleotide. D. It is a pyrimidine nucleotide that contains a phosphoanhydride bond. E. It is a purine nucleotide The correct answer is C. It is a pyrimidine nucleotide. I eliminated answers B and D because it says monophosphate in the name, and there has to be at least two phosphate groups to form a phosphoanhydride bond. I can tell by the nomenclature that it is a nucleotide. But, like the question said, I'm not familiar with orotidine how could I tell during an exam that this was a purine or pyrimidine? The 5 nucleotides that I know all end in "ine" during the first part of their name.

I've done an experiment Km and Vmax determinations for an enzyme/substrate. And I have to calculate different Values; values of substrate concentration, product concentration, [P], after the reaction, [p] before the reaction, quantity of p in moles and rate of reaction, Vo. I've got notes on how to do them but i need to know if it is correct.

of substrate concentration i used c1v1=c2v2, values of product concentration, [P] after reaction i used Beer Lambert equation, values of [p] before the reaction i need to use dilution factor.

of quantity of p in moles I used A=V*C But I don't know the rate of reaction I'm not looking for answers just some advice to point me in the right direction.

i really need the help

Hey, i have to choose my A-levels pretty soon and i was wondering what other a-level would compliment the three i've already decided on taking. I'm thinking of taking: Biology Psychology English Literature Everyone has been telling me to take chemistry, because without it biology will be too hard to keep up with (because of the biochemistry topics) but i'm not that great at chemistry and dont enjoy it very much. So what other A-level would you suggest i take with these? Or would chemistry be my best option? My school offers the following subjects: Art Biology Business Studies Chemistry Economics English Literature French Further Mathematics Geography German History Mathematics Music Physics Psychology Religious Studies Textiles Theatre Studies What do you think? Thanks
