I am an English major and Biology minor (pre-dental student) and need to take PHY2053C (College Physics 1) and it's corresponding lab. It is stated that the prerequisites for those classes are "MAC 1105 (algebra) and MAC 1114 (trig) or equivalent or Consent of Instructor." However, I have only taken MAC1105. I was wondering if It was possible to get the consent of the instructor and enroll in the class without having to take MAC 1114. A friend of mine also suggested taking a math placement exam to exempt myself from the math class.

these things possible? It's the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. PS: I would take MAC 1114. However, I am on a tight class schedule and really can't afford to push physics to next semester.
